From February 1 to 2, 2023, the FOR21-KazNMU team participated in the 5th Plenary Session of the Consortium at the Samarkand State Medical University (Samarkand, Uzbekistan). The meeting was carried out in accordance with work plan of international educational project of European Union ERASMUS+ (FOR21 — «Fostering the doctor of the 21st century: education for patient-centered communication», grant application number 619037-EPP-1-2020-1-EL-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP).

The program included a meeting with all project team members from FOR21 partner universities, facilitator Dr. Anastasia Rodina-Teoharaki (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece), discussion of project progress and discussion of organization and goal setting for future implementation of FOR21.

Each partner university presented the VP/SP cases developed by the teams, followed by a discussion and a roadmap for the final correction of the cases.

Dr. Ella Poulton (University of Leeds, UK) conducted training on VP-case scenarios and presented experiences of using Flipped classroom technology to increase student engagement and motivation in the learning process. During the discussion, all universities gave short presentations on the facilitation of VP-cases and the organization of Flipped classroom technology.

Great attention was paid to the discussion of quality assurance, monitoring and evaluation of PCCSP (Patient-Centered Communication Skills Program) and students, including tools for VP/SP case assessment and construction of final evaluation forms (OSCE).
