The mission of the educational program: Training of qualified, competitive personnel, formation of knowledge and skills on the basic principles of clinical psychology based on modern scientific achievements in the field of psychology and medicine. The presented mission corresponds to the development of a new direction in the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of mental health.
The purpose of the EP: The aim of the educational program is to prepare professionals who can provide clinical services based on evidence-based practices, in accordance with ethical and professional standards, for the preservation of individuals’ psychological well-being. These professionals should be capable of delivering preventive, psychocorrectional, and rehabilitative services to individuals experiencing psychological problems.
LO1 – training program are to apply various communication formats, socio-cultural diversity, principles of equality and accessibility in education and healthcare, for a prosperous inclusive environment.
LO2 – Possess high-level critical and creative thinking skills, have the ability to self-regulate and reflect to solve professional problems.
LO3 – is to demonstrate knowledge and compliance with ethical issues and legal norms in the use of digital technologies and public health protection.
LO4 – Apply fundamental knowledge related to professional values, attitudes and behavior; critical thinking and analysis of interdisciplinary connections.
LO5 – is to conduct empirical research and present the results in both written and oral format, to create models of research and clinical activities. LO6 – Demonstrate general professional competencies related to ethical and legal standards, apply knowledge necessary to take care of public health.
LO7 – Establish and maintain effective relationships with recipients of psychological services, develop evidence-based intervention plans, taking into account the goals of providing clinical services.

This course aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of fundamental concepts and theories in psychology and to develop critical thinking skills in evaluating and interpreting psychological research. Students will gain a deeper understanding of the biological, social, and cultural factors that influence behavior and mental processes. By the end of the course, students will have a clear understanding of the field of psychology and will be well prepared for further study in related fields.

Goal: To introduce students to the applied professional activities of specialists who require knowledge of clinical psychology to protect and improve the health of children, adolescents, and adults, focusing on disease prevention, treatment, successful social and psychological adaptation, and rehabilitation. This course will provide students with a conceptual framework for clinical psychology, neuropsychology, and pathopsychology, as well as the basic methods and techniques of psychodiagnostics.

This course explores how people’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are shaped within the social context in which they exist.
Throughout the course, students will gain a deep understanding of the psychological processes underlying human social behavior and will be able to critically evaluate research and theories in this area. Studying social psychology also provides students with practical experience conducting and interpreting social psychological research.

The goal of this course is to provide students with systematic theoretical and applied knowledge about the main stages of evolution, structure, and functioning of the nervous system, the subject, methods, and objectives of neurology, and to prepare them for practical tasks in helping patients with various neurological diseases.

Objective: To develop students’ understanding of the principles and methods for assessing psychological factors affecting health. Students will acquire skills in predicting psychogenic illnesses and learn to use various psychological health assessment tools. They will learn about psychosomatic disorders, including somatoform disorders and chronic pain, and will become familiar with the latest advances in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of these disorders.

Course objective: To provide students with an understanding of the principles and practice of family counseling and therapy. Students will acquire skills in conducting family therapy sessions and providing feedback and support to families. They will be able to analyze family relationships when working with psychological disorders to promote mental health and well-being.

Objective: To understand and apply the fundamentals of mathematical and statistical methods necessary for conducting psychological research. Students will learn how to use statistical programs to analyze and interpret data, and will develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills in relation to real-world data. They will acquire mathematical and statistical thinking skills and understand the role that mathematics and statistics play in understanding behavior.

Objective: To explore the fundamental theoretical issues of medical law. Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: analyze the legal regulation of medical care, outline the legal basis for public appeals, and explain citizens’ rights in healthcare and ways to protect them. They will also focus on ethical requirements in medical practice, ways to protect the rights of medical workers, and the specifics of holding medical organizations and medical workers legally accountable for offenses and crimes committed in the healthcare sector.
