Purpose and Objectives of the Student Service Centerь
The purpose of the Student Service Center is to organize and ensure high-quality, prompt, accessible, and transparent service for students and other applicants of the University based on the “one-stop service” principle, through the provision of public and internal (university) services.
The Student Service Center provides convenient interaction between students and the University, creating conditions for the quick and efficient receipt of the necessary services.
Main Tasks of the Student Service Center

Creating a student-centered environment while ensuring compliance with information security requirements, anti-corruption policy, and the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Coordinating and monitoring the activities of the Student Service Center, including the distribution of functions among employees, ensuring the consistency of processes, and supervising their implementation

Developing the human resources potential of the Center, including staff training, professional development, and the formation of a high service culture

Monitoring service quality, collecting and analyzing feedback from students and stakeholders, and implementing measures to improve the Center’s activities.

Ensuring compliance with the University’s anti-corruption policy, the anti-corruption management system requirements, and the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan

Implementing modern service and digital solutions aimed at increasing the efficiency, accessibility, and transparency of the services provided

Ensuring information security and the protection of personal data of students and other applicants in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan

The co-working zone accommodates 80–100 students, providing a sufficient number of places for effective work. The area includes self-service stations with all-in-one computers, allowing students to access digital resources, complete academic tasks, and work with online services.
The internet provides stable access to educational platforms, electronic libraries, video conferences, and cloud services, enabling students to work productively both individually and in groups. The co-working zone is designed to support academic activities and create a comfortable environment for idea exchange.



The Academic Skills Development Unit operates within the Student Service Center at the S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University and serves as a professional academic environment aimed at supporting students in developing key learning competencies necessary for successful study at a medical university.
The main goal of the unit is to create conditions and provide academic support that fosters the development of students’ knowledge, learning skills, and effective study strategies, helping them become confident, independent, and active participants in the educational process.
The unit coordinates and organizes various forms of academic support for students, including consultations, mentoring programs, educational events, and collaboration with the university’s faculty members.
The activities of the unit are aimed at creating a supportive academic environment that promotes independent learning, academic literacy, critical thinking, and effective management of the learning process, as well as the successful completion of educational programs and the professional development of future specialists in medicine and healthcare.

The unit provides students with the opportunity to receive individual consultations on academic writing, preparation of written assignments, structuring arguments, working with academic sources, and adhering to principles of academic integrity. - Tutoring and Mentoring Programs
Tutoring and mentoring programs are implemented to support students in mastering academic disciplines, developing effective learning strategies, and strengthening academic skills through peer learning and academic guidance. - Educational Resources for Academic Skills Development
Students are given access to educational materials and methodological resources aimed at improving academic writing, critical thinking, time management skills, exam preparation, and effective learning methods. - Webinars, Study Sessions, and Workshops
The unit regularly organizes webinars, study sessions, and workshops aimed at developing students’ key academic skills, including academic writing, research skills, effective learning strategies, and exam preparation.
Collaboration with Academic Departments
The Academic Skills Development Unit collaborates with the university’s academic divisions, including general education departments, specialized subject departments, and clinical departments. This collaboration allows the integration of academic skills development into the educational process, taking into account the specifics of medical education and providing students with comprehensive academic support.
