In order to improve the educational process and ensure compliance with the State General Education Standards of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Testing Center was opened at the Kazakh State Medical University on September 18, 1995.

The Testing Center is a structural subdivision of the Kazakh National Medical University and operates in accordance with the University Charter. At present, the Testing Center is part of the Department of Academic Affairs.

Currently, the Testing Center occupies an area of 720 m². The center has 284 seats equipped with personal computers and is equipped with 52 surveillance cameras, 12 of which rotate 360°.

To monitor students’ knowledge, exams are conducted in the form of computer-based testing and written electronic exams. Testing is conducted on the Hero Study Space platform, while written electronic exams are carried out on the exam portal based on the Moodle platform. During offline exams, regular video surveillance is conducted in the Testing Center; for online exams, proctoring systems are used

Implementation and administration of the educational process within the framework of procedures for assessing students’ knowledge, using computer-based testing and written-electronic examinations, in order to improve the quality, efficiency, and transparency of the assessment process.

• Coordinate the work of departments and CEP in forming databases of test and written-electronic forms for monitoring students’ knowledge in the systems.
• Ensure a unified software and hardware approach to the development and application of test materials based on modern computer technologies.
• Establish technical standards for the University’s control tools for test and written-electronic forms of knowledge assessment.

• Conduct exams in the form of computer-based testing and written-electronic assessments in the systems (assign exams to students according to the approved schedule, generate reporting forms based on exam results).
• Organize the formation and maintenance of a database of test tasks in the system (perform technical examination of test tasks, verify the correctness of the database, train teaching staff, etc.).
• Provide software and hardware support for midterm knowledge control, intermediate, and final certification of students in the form of computer-based testing and written-electronic exams.
• Develop proposals for further improvement of the testing procedures and written-electronic examinations at the University.
