S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University**

A Celebration of Generational Continuity and Pride in the Alma Mater

On 7 June 2025, the S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University hosted its traditional Alumni Day – 2025, bringing together graduates from different generations of physicians, educators, and scientists within the walls of their alma mater.

The event was filled with warm memories, gratitude, and a strong sense of professional unity. The opening ceremony took place on the university’s main square, where alumni were welcomed by the university’s leadership, honored guests, and faculty members. Words of appreciation were expressed to the graduates for their dedication to the medical profession and their contribution to the development of Kazakhstan’s healthcare system.

After the ceremonial procession, participants proceeded to the Concordia Student Theater, where the main part of the celebration continued. The program included:

  • welcoming speeches by university leaders and distinguished alumni;
  • awarding of the honorary title “Üzdik Tülek” (Best Graduate) for outstanding achievements in medicine and public service; 
  • musical performances and creative presentations by KazNMU students.

Special emphasis was placed on strengthening intergenerational ties: representatives of the KazNMU Alumni Association spoke about ongoing projects, the role of alumni in the development of the university, and invited all graduates to join the Association to participate in joint university initiatives.

After the official program, the celebration moved to Abu Ali Ibn Sina Square, where a cultural and exhibition program took place, along with faculty- based class reunions. The atmosphere was truly familial—filled with memories, photographs, and new ideas for future collaboration.

Alumni Day – 2025 once again demonstrated that S.D. Asfendiyarov KazNMU is more than a university—it is a large medical family uniting professionals who remain devoted to their vocation and their alma mater.
