Academic Quality Department

The Academic Quality Department is a structural subdivision of the University and is directly subordinate to the Head of the Department for Academic Work of the University.

The main tasks of the Academic Quality Department:
• Study and analysis of world experience in the field of quality assurance systems of higher education, development of proposals for their implementation;
• Coordination of the activities of the structural units of the University on internal quality assurance of education;
• Coordination of the process of institutional and specialized accreditation;
• Providing conducting and analyzing feedback;
• Organization of work on the rating of educational programs;
• Provision of data on educational activities according to the QS rating;
• Participation in the work of collegial and advisory bodies of the university;
• Compliance with the requirements of the quality management system, the University’s quality policy, and other internal regulatory documents of the University in the field of quality;
• Compliance with the requirements of the anti-corruption management system, anti-corruption policy, internal regulatory documents and legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan regarding anti-corruption.
Main functions of the Academic Quality Department:
• Study and analysis of the world and Kazakhstan experience in the field of quality assurance systems of higher education, development of proposals for their implementation;
• Development of an internal quality assurance system in accordance with the requirements of ESG standards and definition of procedures and principles for assessing the quality of educational activities by participants in the process;
• Development of proposals to improve the effectiveness of the educational process and methodological work;
• Coordination and monitoring of the activities of the structural units of the University to ensure the quality of education;
• Development of the University’s plan for the accreditation of educational programs;
• Coordination of the process of institutional and specialized accreditation, control of the formation of accounting documents;
• Work with emails and requests from third-party organizations;
• Development and coordination of technical specifications and the formation of a budget application for the purchase of accreditation services, conclusion of contracts with accreditation agencies on the passage of accreditation;
• Provision of interaction between OHPE and accreditation agencies on external evaluation issues, organization of visits of experts of accreditation agencies;
• Providing consulting and methodological assistance to structural units on the development of the internal system of ensuring academic quality, the introduction of regulatory documentation, accreditation;
• Collection and compilation of data on the rating of educational programs «Atameken»;
• Development of tools for feedback (questionnaires, checklists, etc.);
• Participation in the work of the Academic Council on Department issues;
• Qualitative analysis of the survey results;
• Development of methodological recommendations for quality monitoring and analysis;
• Organization and holding of training seminars on the analysis of the educational process;
• Ensuring the relevance of internal regulatory documents regulating the educational process in accordance with the amended regulatory legal acts, determining the need to develop and adjust internal regulatory documents;
• Maintaining the internal regulatory documentation of the university on educational activities, determining the basic principles of the development of internal regulatory documentation on the educational process;
• Technical support of databases of the educational process, methodological work;
• Execution of necessary technical calculations, development of projects and schemes, ensuring their compliance with technical specifications, current standards and regulatory documents of the university;
• Participation in the development of documents regulating educational and methodological work;
• Participation in the modernization and implementation of modules of the AIS program of the University;
• Timely preparation of the established accounting documentation;
• Participation in the preparation of analytical materials on the state of methodological work of the University;
• Development of proposals to improve the effectiveness of the educational process and methodological work;
• Participation in the preparation and conduct of seminars, conferences, advanced training and retraining courses for teachers on the organization of educational and methodological work;
• Provision of work on participation in the QS WUR rating.

— preparation of responses to requests from various organizations and other departments of the university in accordance with the functions of the department;
— participation in the development of current and future work plans of the Department, and their proper implementation;
— participation in the preparation of reports in all areas of the Department;
— preparation of requests to authorized state bodies and organizations on issues related to the scope of the Department’s activities;
— performing other functions defined by the current legislation, internal regulatory documents and organizational and administrative acts of the University administration;
— participation in all areas of work to support projects of the Academic quality department.
