Completion of Intensive English Courses Under the BERNICA Project

Almaty, 20 Feburary — The BERNICA project, coordinated by Professor Toguzbaeva K.K., proudly announces the successful completion of its intensive English courses. These courses were designed to enhance the professional and scientific communication skills of university staff. Provided free of charge, this educational initiative specifically targeted teachers and doctoral students, aiming to improve their competencies in various academic activities through the English language.

The courses, led by a highly experienced trainer over a period of four months, aimed to equip participants with the skills necessary to excel in an international academic environment. The curriculum focused on several key competencies:

  • Effortlessly reading original literature in English within their respective fields.
  • Effectively summarizing information from foreign sources into translations or abstracts.
  • Proficiently writing scientific articles in English for peer-reviewed journals.
  • Skillfully delivering messages, presentations, and reports in English, and actively engaging in discussions pertinent to their research areas.
  • Actively participating in international conferences and projects.

The course concluded with participants demonstrating significant improvement in their ability to communicate complex scientific ideas effectively in English, a critical skill in the global research community. Funded by the Erasmus+ program, the BERNICA project continues to support academic excellence and cross-cultural collaboration across Central Asia. At the end of the course, certificates were awarded to successfully completed participants
